Disability Discrimination Act, 1995
Consulting Tools' 360-degree on-line system adheres to the Disability Discrimination Act (1995), (Part III - Access to Goods and Services) in the following areas:
- On-screen colour contrast
Our on-line 360º Feedback questionnaire pages have a simple and clear page layout consisting of a plain white background, incorporating the client logo at the top of the page and instruction and question text appear in a client defined colour
- Ability to adjust text size within the browser
On screen text can be resized using the browsers text size menu providing legibility for visually impaired respondents
Compatibility with screen reading (synthesized speech) software is being introduced
- Text alternatives for every image on-screen
Apart from the client logo or banner at the top of the screen we use plain text within the questionnaire. The instruction text, the scale, response capture and questions are all displayed in plain text which allows respondents to re-size as required and doesn't necessitate providing text alternatives for images
Text and graphics are understandable when viewed without colour
Our 360 on-line questionnaires are compatible without colour, for example when using Windows XP High Contrast Display for easy reading
- Web pages that work with a mouse, a wand, the keyboard, etc.
The on-line questionnaire can be completed using a mouse, a light pen or wand, touch screen or a keyboard from start to finish
- Clear navigation mechanisms
The questionnaire allows for access from one screen to another with ease. On progressing through the questionnaire, candidates are able to navigate forward and backwards until they reach the summary screen at the end of the questionnaire which shows all of the responses. From here changes can be made with navigation back to the relevant page to edit responses. Upon completion a "Thank You" page is displayed informing respondents that their data is saved and that they can exit their browser.
